Dean and Jane

Dean was pretty unconcerned about everything that happened. He didn't seems to have missed me any more than he does when we're apart for a couple hours at church.

last night and today though he's more needy. last night he gave James a bunch of trouble until I finally went in at 2:30 and held him for a while. After that he went and stayed asleep until 8:30 this morning. Jane eats so fast and seems to get the sleep-in-the-dark, awake-in-the-light thing okay. The only problem is she has a sensitive bum. If she's wet or dirty it needs changed right away. I was up with her a bunch -- 2 times for feeding, a couple times for diaper, a couple times for gas. The good thing is, I'm only up for a few minutes, none of that feed for one hour, sleep for two that a lot of newborns do. We'll figure it out.

I've been giving Dean a lot of attention today while he's at home and hopefully he'll be better tonight. He wasn't particularly happy to see Jane was still around when he woke up this morning. He didn't cry or anything, just looked kinda sober. He's usually all smiles and really happy to see Dad, but James was holding Jane.

  1. Awww! I love how he's so ready to point out her eyes and nose! He is super good at folding his arms, too! Jane seems to be pretty mellow about it all! Here's wishing you a better night of sleep!

  2. What a sweet little family you have Jen! He'll get used to her, just give him some time. It looks to me that you're doing a wonderful job giving him attention and that is just what he needs. Before you know it they'll be playing together and entertaining one another for hours.
