New toy

I made James watch the kids for a couple hours on Saturday because I was desperately in need of a haircut, some pants that didn't sag in the bum, and a few baby things.
I haven't got the mommy skill to do any of those things with 2 kids yet.


Dean (of course) likes to play with Jane in her new toy if anyone is down on the floor watching her. There have only been a couple episodes of violence (he kicked her in the face). He seems to have gotten used to the idea of having Jane within reach and rarely tries to hurt her. That is an improvement. I was pretty nervous about leaving Jane on the floor, but she should be rolling soon and that is where she belongs.

I love the second hand store. There are fewer choices and they're usually all good deals. I got Jane's new toy there and the shirt she's wearing (the shirt was less than $2!)

Dean can do dozens of signs, but I haven't succeeded at videotaping them. I'll keep trying. He continues to be very interested in letters, cars, and some shapes.



by the way, Jane laughed for the first time a couple days ago while we were playing pat-a-cake. I'll try to catch that on tape, too. It's a really sweet thing to hear.
